2024 Annual Assembly

#AAPMR24 Plenary Speakers Announced!

AAPM&R is excited to announce this year’s plenary speakers, and we’ve got some big names on the roster for 2024! You won’t want to miss this line-up of exceptional thought-leaders, each with something special to share with our PM&R community.

Dr. Glaucomflecken (aka Will Flanary, MD), comedian, social media sensation and will-150ophthalmologist, will kick-off the conference on Thursday. His “Dr. Glaucomflecken” alter ego began as a creative outlet to tell his painfully specific ophthalmology jokes and to cope with his own health challenges. Since then, it has evolved to incorporate satire of the U.S. healthcare system, academic publishing and the interpersonal conflicts that are pervasive in the medical system. He’s gone from cutting up in front of his 6th-grade classmates to delivering keynote addresses around the world, and entertaining an audience of millions online. Learn more at glaucomflecken.com.

Paralympic athlete and author Josh Sundquist, joins the line-up on Friday with an inspirational josh-150message for our attendees.
He is a Paralympian and bestselling author who has shared his story with audiences across the world, ranging from schools to the White House to Fortune 50 companies. His high-energy blend of humor and inspiration motivates audiences to adopt his ski racing motto 1MT1MT (one more thing, one more time) to elevate their performance in sales, customer service, leadership and more. Deputy Director of the Division of Specialty Payment Models at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation Brian WaldersenBrian Waldersen, MD, MPH
, will close out the conference on Saturday. Hear about the strategic direction and goals for Medicare beneficiaries being covered under a value-based care model and the actions that specialists like physiatrists can play. He will also share the actions the Innovation Center has taken to achieve these goals to-date and what actions they are hoping to see from physicians moving forward.
