ADA Statement

AAPM&R conferences are ADA compliant. We strive to take the appropriate steps required to ensure that no individual with a disability is excluded, denied services, segregated, or otherwise treated differently. Individuals requiring special assistance must contact the AAPM&R Meetings & Conventions Department for further information and make the appropriate notation on the registration form. All requests for special accommodations under ADA must allow enough time for evaluation and appropriate action by AAPM&R.

Attire

Semi-casual business wear is recommended for the Annual Assembly. We suggest you dress comfortably and have a jacket or sweater available in case you find the meeting rooms too cold.

Audio Taping

Most of the educational program will be recorded and available for purchase as a multi-media CD-ROM set. The CD-ROM set will include the live audio recordings and the course handouts.

CD-ROM of Audiotaping & Course Handouts from 2007 Annual Assembly

Most of the 2007 educational program was recorded and is available for purchase as a multi-media CD-ROM set for US $229 from www.netsymposium.com. The CD-ROM set includes the live audio recordings and the course handouts.
CD-ROMs from the 2006 Annual Assembly can also be obtained.

Children and Infant Policy

For the safety of all attendees, infants and children are prohibited from attending any educational session. Any child (12 years or older) must be accompanied by an attendee if visiting the Exhibit Hall. Under no circumstances are meeting attendees or their children allowed in the Exhibit Hall during the hours of set up or tear down. Children may attend the Welcome Reception, Thursday, November 20, and the President’s Reception on Saturday, November 22, if they are registered for the meeting. Registration for children over five is $20 per child. Please make the proper notation when registering for the assembly and include payment.

Guest/Accompanying Person Program

The guest/accompanying person registration features admittance to the Welcome Reception and President’s Reception, as well as entrance to the Exhibit Hall. Guests are not eligible for CME. The cost per person is $65 before September 22, or $80 afterward. Please make the proper notation on the registration form or when registering online for the assembly, and include payment.

Internet Access

Internet access at this event is available but requires a daily usage fee. E-mail access stations will be available in the Exhibit Hall and around the convention center for attendees to use.

Letter of Invitation to Obtain Visa

AAPM&R cannot intervene with either the US Embassy abroad or with the State Department on behalf of any participant. However, if you need a personal letter of invitation to attend the meeting, contact Elsa Lightfoot via e-mail at elightfoot@aapmr.org. A request for a letter must be sent in writing on official letterhead and include your name, hospital/institution, complete mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, and any other specific information required for your country. If you are presenting a paper or speaking, please include the date/time, and the title of the session that will be presented. If you are exhibiting or attending the conference, please indicate that in your request. Attendees from China should include their passport number, date of birth, and gender.

For information on obtaining a temporary US Visa in order to attend the Annual Assembly, please refer to www.UnitedStatesVisas.gov and make an appointment with the US Embassy or Consulate. AAPM&R Annual Assembly and Technical Exhibition attendees need to apply for visas no later than three (3) months in advance, due to increasing delays in securing visas to the United States.

Medical Equipment Requests Scootaround, Inc.

Attendees and guests who require special medical equipment during the course of the Annual Assembly are encouraged to order such equipment in advance. Scootaround Inc. is the preferred vendor of AAPM&R for Academy events. Scooter and wheelchair rentals are available by contacting Scootaround Inc. at their toll-free hotline: 888-441-7575. You can also submit a rental inquiry on the Web at www.scootaround.com.
