Member Councils:
Five Clinical Homes for Members
Academy leaders have been working
to find a new way to engage members and offer them the opportunity to build a
sense of community within the Academy. After several years of evaluation and
consideration, the AAPM&R Board of Governors has approved a method for the
membership to evolve into communities that generally reflect physiatric clinical
practice.
Resident Physician Council
The Resident Physician Council (RPC) is an official council of
AAPM&R formed to serve and represent resident interests. The RPC is
open to all resident members of AAPM&R, and active membership is
encouraged.
Council of State PM&R Society Presidents
The Council of State PM&R Society Presidents
provides a mechanism for greater opportunity of involvement and participation
in Academy affairs by Academy members through individual initiatives and
through local, state, and regional physical medicine and rehabilitation
societies. The Council identifies local and/or state issues affecting the
membership, monitors and offers assistance dealing with these issues, and
assists in the dissemination of Academy policies to the state societies.
