PM&R will be the official scientific journal of AAPM&R beginning
in 2009
The Academy is proud to announce the launch of PM&R
– a new monthly, scientific, peer-reviewed journal created specifically
for the physical medicine and rehabilitation physician.
The Academy’s goal is to advance education and impact the
specialty through the timely delivery of clinically relevant and evidence-based
research and review information. Topics will include acute and chronic
musculoskeletal disorders and pain, neurologic conditions involving the central
and peripheral nervous systems, rehabilitation of impairments associated with
disabilities in adults and children, and neurophysiology and electrodiagnosis.
PM&R will emphasize principles of injury, function, and
rehabilitation, and is designed to be relevant to practitioners and researchers
in a variety of medical and surgical specialties and rehabilitation disciplines.

Look for the first issue of PM&R when it
launches in January 2009 and becomes the Academy’s new official scientific
journal. PM&R will be replacing Archives of Physical Medicine
and Rehabilitation as a free benefit of Academy membership.
