Please join the Advocacy Open Forum: IRF Proposed Rule webinar on Tuesday, June 2 at 7 pm ET/6 pm CT to provide your thoughts on the FY 2021 CMS IRF Proposed Rule.

This webinar will discuss and solicit member feedback on the CMS proposal to allow non-physician practitioners (NPPs) to perform certain duties that are currently required to be performed by a rehabilitation physician. We will also discuss and solicit member feedback on CMS’ proposal to eliminate the post-admission physician evaluation (PAPE) and to remove some of the pre-admission screening documentation requirements.

AAPM&R will be engaging the entire specialty in our response efforts. Please join to hear the tangible steps members need to take to help AAPM&R respond to this proposed rule. You will also learn about your Academy’s Future of Inpatient Rehabilitation Workgroup.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills. 

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
