#AAPMR2017 Friday's Plenary: Becoming a Leader of Character

Dave Anderson is a second-generation West Point graduate and co-author of Becoming a Leader of Character. While many books focus on developing managerial competencies, most leadership failures are the result of a failure in character, not a failure in competence. But, just like how you don’t get in shape by reading a fitness magazine, you don’t become a leader of character by reading a book on character.

Leaders of Character is a “workout plan” designed to develop 6 habits of character by providing small, daily exercises that strengthen your character muscles for the bigger character tests all leaders face. Dave Anderson’s plenary will shed light on new leadership strategies for thriving through transformation!

Correct Coding for Arthrocentesis, Aspiration or Injection

At the American Medical Association Relative Value Scale Update Committee (AMA RUC) meeting October 5-8, 2016, correct coding of CPT® code 27370 was addressed secondary to significantly increased utilization. It was noted by the RUC and AAPM&R representatives that some physiatrists, as well as other specialties, may be incorrectly reporting this code. The Academy recognizes that clarification of this issue is necessary for physiatrists to comply with coding guidelines. Read your April issue of The Physiatrist for the full article.
