Medical Student Mentorship Program -
Call for Mentors
The mentor program was created to give medical
students easy access to information regarding the specialty of physical
medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), AAPM&R, residency programs, and the
application process.
Medical Student Mentor responsibilities:

Mentors will answer questions posed by interested
medical students about PM&R, residency, residency programs, and the
application process.

Mentors will offer interested medical students insight
into involvement in PM&R-related areas, such as
research, AAPM&R membership, and networking opportunities.

Mentors will serve a minimum of two years, during
which time they will update their contact information listed on the AAPM&R
Web site.

Mentors must be current members in good standing
with AAPM&R.

I,________________________ am willing to serve as a
Medical Student Mentor for the American Academy of Physical Medicine
and Rehabilitation - Resident Physician Council (AAPM&R-RPC). I understand
that in this role I agree to the following:

Have my institution and personal e-mail address and
areas of interest posted on
the Medical Students’ Web page of the AAPM&R Web site as a mentor
contact.

Serve a two-year term, during which I will
continually update my contact information with the RPC staff liaison for
the Web site.

Respond to all medical student inquiries within a
reasonable time period.

Offer insight to interested medical students into
involvement in PM&R-related areas such as research, AAPM&R
membership, and networking opportunities.

Answer questions regarding PM&R, residency,
residency training programs, and the application process as honestly as
possible. I will not discredit the reputation of specific programs.

Inform the medical students that I am expressing my
personal opinions and not those of AAPM&R.

Be an Academy member in good standing during my
two-year term.
