Position Overview

The Data Analyst supports, monitors, and enhances the Academy’s data platforms and processes, and provides systems support for staff. Key areas include development of data analysis reports, visualizations and dashboards, configuration and development of the association management system, coordination and execution of service requests, troubleshooting, project execution, and business analysis. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete data requests including reports, dashboards, PowerBI Visualizations, SQL and business object creation, and others. 
  • Work with staff to provide guidance and assistance with overall data integrity efforts.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in the Academy’s underlying data structures.
  • Work closely with Manager, Technology Operations on the management and tracking of incoming data requests to ensure proper prioritization and expectation setting within the internal helpdesk system. Keep business stakeholders apprised of status.
  • Maintain thorough, up-to-date centralized documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) data elements and report definitions.
  • Collaborate with Academy staff to increase proficiency in data analysis techniques and approaches, with the goal of enhancing overall data competencies.
  • Provide support and updates to the Association Management System (AMS).  
  • Participate in technology projects as needed such as:
    • Calculating cost-benefits analyses
    • Designing system components and workflows
    • System testing and quality control
    • System integration and implementation projects
  • Provide desktop and general IT support services as needed.
  • Keep abreast of new and emerging technologies.
  • Promote quality by adhering to organization standards and IT, RISC (Risk and Information Security Committee) and Data Governance, and Employee policies.
  • Maintain high professional standards of integrity, ethics, and commitment to the goals of AAPM&R.

AAPM&R Offers

Based on experience and skillsets, the salary range for the Data Analyst role is $60,000 – $75,000/annually.  AAPM&R offers the following benefits:

Requirements                                                                                      

  • Bachelors degree or relevant experience required.
  • Computer science related education required.
  • Experience working with multiple departments and/or organizations, building relationships, and with highly collaborative projects required.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server required.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Power BI and the Microsoft Office 365 suite of tools required.
  • Association Management experience preferred.Proficiency in Python, PowerShell or similar structured programming languages a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under deadline pressure and on multiple projects simultaneously.
    • This will involve occasional evening or weekend work.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate within and across departments to achieve both departmental and organizational goals.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to respond to Academy members, staff and others in a professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly manner.

Location: Rosemont, IL (Hybrid)

*Must have access to Rosemont, IL office biweekly for 5-6 days per month, on average.
