Good starting point for International Students. Gives certification requirements, links with information, etc.
- National Residency Matching Program (NRMP)
Detailed instructional guides to help you understand and navigate the Main Match and Specialty Matches.
- Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
A service that transmits residency applications and supporting credential from medical schools to residency programs via the Internet.
- American Medical Association (AMA)
Medical Student Section. Student-oriented area of the American Medical Association Web site. Includes useful information on medical education in the United States. - American College of Physicians (ACP)
International Medical Graduates page — lots of really good general (and specific) information. A wealth of resource material. Focus tends to be on Internal Medicine, but the general application-related procedures are the same.
- Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC)
An association of medical schools, teaching hospitals and academic and scientific societies. Information on medical education in the United States.
- Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB)
Information on state-specific licensure requirements.
- United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE)
Information on taking the exam, including eligibility requirements, test dates, and an on-line application.
