STEP 3 - In-Person Skills Assessment

Thursday, November 7, 2024

The in-person skills assessment takes one hour and will be administered on Thursday, November 7, 2024, following the STEP 2: Live Course. All participants will be through the assessment in one hour. Final slotting of assessment rotations will be provided closer to the course date.


Hands-On Skills Training Sessions

During the live course, attendees will rotate through multiple stations covering the following topics:

In-Office Assessment Stations:

  • Headache and Neck Exam
  • Cranial Nerve and Ocular Exam
  • Balance
  • Cognitive Assessment
  • Behavioral Observations

 

 

 

On-Field Assessment Stations:

  • Physical Exam Measures to Evaluate Severity of Injury
  • C-Spine Stabilization
  • Indications for Emergent Transport and Decisions for Returning to Play
  • SCAT6 Exam
  • Verbal Cognitive Questions on Equipment Removal, Counseling, Instructions for Discharge

Accreditation:

The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Designation of Credit:

The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) designates this live activity for a maximum of 15.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

This course has been approved by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) for a maximum of 15.75 Self-Assessment CME (SA-CME) credits. Attendees must actively participate and complete a self-evaluation at the conclusion of the course to earn SA-CME credit.
