Advocacy: At the Table and Part of the Conversation

AAPM&R’s advocacy provides what individual PM&R practitioners cannot do themselves—influence the trajectory of PM&R practitioners in healthcare and look ahead to future advancement of the specialty.

  • The Academy advocates on behalf of physicians to address the macro issues that influence their continued and evolving ability to contribute to healthcare, focusing on certification, reimbursement, burnout and more. Our advocacy activities inform policymakers about issues affecting healthcare and quality-of-life of people with disabilities. We also maintain a strong Washington presence to help protect member interests in physician payment and regulatory issues.

But we can’t do it alone. Advocacy must take place at all levels of the specialty. That starts with Academy members being informed and engaged. Won't you join us and be a #PMRAdvocate?

Quality & Practice

  • AAPM&R's Registry: The key to putting your data to work for you. With the AAPM&R Registry, you can compare your patient outcomes, professional performance, and care processes against other physicians across the country. AAPM&R's Registry is currently recruiting institutions and practices who are committed to quality improvement to serve as early adopters for ischemic stroke and low-back pain data collection efforts.
