Academy members, colleagues and friends,
AAPM&R and our community of 10,000+ physiatrists extend its heartfelt concern to the thousands of people in Florida, the Carolinas, Georgia and Puerto Rico whose lives have been devastated by Hurricane Ian and Hurricane Fiona. We stand with all the physiatrists and their teams who practice in the affected areas, along with their families and friends, as they face the herculean task of rebuilding after this terrible disaster.
These disasters are far-reaching. More than one million people with disabilities face unique challenges evacuating and accessing their durable medical equipment and care overall. Let’s support our community, our friends and peers. The Academy encourages our members and others across the specialty to support relief efforts by donating, if you are able to.
Please continue to monitor the Academy’s website. As we learn of specific rehabilitation needs – from volunteers to equipment – we’ll post information to www.aapmr.org.
Our goal is to support our members in getting back to the incredible work they do each day for their patients. If your home or business have been devastated and you need membership assistance, please contact us at memberservices@aapmr.org or call (847) 737-6000.
Let’s join together to support our community members who are in need, and help rebuild, restore and renew.
