The Open Payments program, and associated website (
openpaymentsdata.cms.gov), serves as a tool to search payments made by drug and medical device companies to physicians and teaching hospitals. Each year, physicians and teaching hospitals are given the opportunity to review the data associated with them before it becomes public. From April 1 – May 15, physicians and teaching hospitals can review their 2017 data before it goes live on the website on June 30. Physicians should
register through the CMS website to access their data. CMS affords the opportunity to
dispute data that appears incorrect.
