Sean E Smith MD, MPHS, FAAPMR, was the lead author on research paper on treatment of SOD1 ALS and Tofersen that was featured in an ALS association blog post and was a featured speaker at the Western ALS Consortium’s annual conference. His talk delved into the real-world experiences of seven people diagnosed with SOD1-ALS and treated with Qalsody (Tofersen) at @washumedicine. Dr. Smith’s recent article in Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology shows that Qalsody treatment can lead to meaningful preservation of function, and even improvement in function, in patients with SOD1-ALS.
