The supplement includes 12 articles on a variety of cancer rehabilitation topics, including prehabilitation prior to breast cancer treatment and inpatient rehabilitation. Learn more.

The Academy recently learned that engagement in its Practice Improvement Projects (PIPs) can qualify as an Improvement Activity (IA) under the 2017 Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). By participating in MOC Part IV and engaging in an AAPM&R PIP for at least 90 consecutive days, you can attest to IA_PSPA_2: Participation in MOC Part IV. Attesting to this single, medium-weighted activity will allow you to avoid a 4% Medicare payment penalty in 2019, and, if paired with the submission of other MIPS data, may also help you to earn a small incentive payment! Through the American Medical Association (AMA) Foundation’s Physician Disaster Recover Fund, donors can help support physicians impacted by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. Contributions will be used to re-establish the delivery of patient care in physician practices in federally-designated disaster areas damaged by these hurricanes. Learn more about donating.

• Rebecca Dutton, MD, FAAPMR, an assistant professor in orthopaedics and rehabilitation at the University of New Mexico, is working with the Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital to test a new design that could help meet the unique needs of stroke and trauma survivors. Read more.
  
  
• Adam L. Schreiber, DO, FAAPMR, recently joined Comprehensive Pain Solutions of New Jersey in Cherry Hill.
  
  
• Kate Sigford, MD, FAAPMR, has been named as LifeScape’s new medical director of Rehabilitation Services. She will have oversight of rehabilitation and medically-complex services at LifeScape’s Specialty Hospital and Rehabilitation Center. Read more.
