AAPM&R Member in the News—Chloe Slocum, MD

Jan 09, 2017

Chloe Slocum, MD, recently finished serving on a technical expert panel (TEP) commissioned by CMS on the Improving Post-Acute Care Transformation (IMPACT) Act of 2014. This was the second commissioned meeting to follow-up on the first TEP held in April 2016. The TEP reviewed potential data elements for use in standardized reporting and quality measurement across post-acute care (PAC) and the results of preliminary testing for different categories of data elements that had been selected based on the results of the first TEP and expert advisors' guidance to RAND. The data elements deliberated by the TEP included items within the domains of cognitive status, depressed mood, medication reconcilliation, pain, and functional impairments of hearing and vision as well as bladder and bowel incontinence. Members of CMS, CDC, and PROMIS teams were in attendance to observe the TEP deliberations.
