Effective January 1, 2023, Medicare physician payment will be cut by 4.5% without Congressional action.  AAPM&R has fiercely advocated on this issue through meetings with Congress as well as coalition efforts over the past several months.   With only a couple of weeks left before the new year, now is the time for Congress to hear directly from you about the impact these cuts will have on patient care in 2023. 

To-date, Academy members have sent over 400 letters to Representatives and Senators urging action on this issue before the end of the year.  Congress needs to hear how detrimental these cuts would be for physiatry and for rehabilitation patients.  If you haven’t already, take less than five minutes to contact your Senators and Representatives via our modifiable email on the Academy’s Member Action Center.
