On May 28, 2024, the Academy submitted comments to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) on the Fiscal Year 2025 proposed rules for both the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) Prospective Payment System (PPS) and the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) PPS. The Academy’s comments for both proposals largely focused on potential quality measures and proposals to expand collection of patient data on Social Determinants of Health (SDOH). Now that the comment period for both the IRF and SNF PPS proposed rules has closed, the Academy awaits the release of the final rules for FY 2025, scheduled to take effect October 1, 2024.
