AAPM&R’s Biologics Commitment and Complimentary Access to Educational Resources

Feb 18, 2021, 09:03 AM by Grace Whittington

Did you know that AAPM&R is a member of the Biologic Association? The Biologic Association's mission is to foster and convene a collaboration for shared and coordinated efforts to speak with a unified voice in the musculoskeletal biologics environment, advocating for the responsible use of biologics in clinical practice, spearheading standards development and assessing and reporting on the safety and efficacy of biologic interventions. Gerard Malanga, MD, FAAPMR, serves as our Academy liaison to the Biologics Association. And, as a benefit of Academy membership, you receive complimentary access to educational resources on the Biologic Association’s website. Learn more and register to receive access to these resources.

Please note that when registering on their website, the Biologic Association's Terms of Use is different from AAPM&R's Terms of Use. AAPM&R does not oversee or control how our members' information will be used after registering. We advise all members who are interested in registering on their website to review the Biologic Association's Terms of Use before you register.

In addition to these educational resources, we have convened an Academy Biologics Taskforce and they will be meeting for the first time on March 10, 2021. Chaired by Joanne Borg-Stein, MD, FAAPMR, this independent workgroup will support Academy members who are interested or involved in biologics. Our workgroup’s goals are as follows:

  • Engage and invest in members who have interest and expertise in biologics.
  • Serve as a think tank and planning committee for biologics-related education and advocacy efforts for the Academy.
  • Define parameters for the Academy’s involvement in biologics.
  • Identify member needs and build education and informational resources to address those needs.

Stay tuned for more updates coming soon from this workgroup!
