AAPM&R will provide consistent updates on our advocacy outreach efforts, the Multi-Disciplinary PASC Collaborative and other relevant information to our Long COVID initiative.
AAPM&R's Long COVID Call to Action in Full Force
In March, your Academy kicked off a national call to action advocating for a comprehensive crisis management plan to address Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 (PASC or Long COVID). In the last week, the Long COVID Alliance voted to support the Academy's advocacy sign-on letter to become the latest addition to the over 70 organizations who have joined our call.
Our efforts have initiated dialogues across Washington D.C. to such offices as the White House Domestic Policy Council, House Energy and Commerce Committee, the Administration on Community Living and the National Council on Disability, as well as additional outreach across another 75+ organizations including government agencies, specialty societies and patient-focused organizations. Furthering this initiative has also included the formation of the Multi-Disciplinary PASC Collaborative. The full Collaborative met yesterday to advance their work. Stay tuned to Academy communications for updates on their important work.
